I am an educator, mom, wife, sister, daughter, and friend. I spent 25 years in the classroom teaching Kindergarten through 2nd grade. For the past 4 years, I have been a Math Specialist for the Alabama, Math, Science, and Technology Initiative.
A few years ago, I decided that I would pursue a life-long dream and return to school to earn my Ph.D. It was both terrifying and thrilling to be able to sit in a classroom as a student once again, and stretch my brain! Imagine my surprise when three short years later, I reached the finish line at the same time as all three of my children! My two daughters earned their college degrees and my son earned his high school diploma!
It is certain that we will never forget May 2012!

Thanks Jess! I'm still a newbie too! You will have lots of fun! Thanks for following! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome accomplishment. Several years ago, my mom and I finished about the same time too...her college and me high school. It makes my high school graduation kind of special for me!
ReplyDeleteApparently we have the same last name. I am wondering if we are some way related?? Email me sometime.
Hi Jennifer! What a coincidence! I see that I live about 50 miles south of you! It's entirely possible that there could be a family connection of some kind! My husband's family is from Goshen and is quite large, though Messick is not a very common name. I checked out your blog. Very cute!
ReplyDeleteDr. Messick,
ReplyDeleteWe really enjoyed your workshop at BES. Please visit my "new" blog http://mcbrideskindercakes.blogpsot.com to see what kinds of things that we have incorporated. Your ideas were quite practical and very helpful. Thank you for your insight.
